Using The Olfactory Sense In Working With Aromatherapy. An Introductory course to working with the Elderly, Terminal Ill, Hospice/Palliative Care Patients. This introductory course was designed to educate Massage Therapists’ and Caregivers who would like to work with patients or their loved ones.
It is intended to give a basic understanding of how Aromatherapy and essential oils can be used to help as an alternative therapy to help with comfort. Dolores works on a daily basis with terminally ill patients incorporating aromatherapy for her patients.
In our time together we will learn:

If you need all of your mandatories I can provide a homestudy via Debra Florio. Add on an extra $25.00

In our time together we will learn:
- History of Aromatherapy and Use of Essential Oils Through The Ages
- Fragrance(synthetic) versus Essential Oils (Plant)
- How to use essential oils
- How they are extracted from the plant
- Quality and What to Look For when selecting your oil
- Carrier Oils To use
- Guidelines, Safety Use and How to mix and blend
- Taxonomy (the classifications of organisms’ in an ordered system that indicates relationships)
- Anatomy & Physiology of the 12 Body Systems
- What Happens When We Smell
- How you can work with your patients
- How to select oils to use on your patients
- Data Sheets for the essential oils we will be working with
- Time working and interacting with each of the oils we will be using
- Intake Form (this will guide you on questions to ask your client and how we then make a selection based off of this information)
- Time to evaluate in class with another student to make blends and do an Intake Form
- You will receive lecture and hands on time with the oils and making your own blend
- You will receive after taking the class my resource information on where to buy your oils, supplies and where to buy a beginner kit with a bowl with the oils we studied in class!
